Scott Garnett
As a city resident for over 26 years, I have always been engaged in selling and promoting the City. My wife and I opened Lift Coffee Shop on Broad Street 10 years ago which led to my association with the Downtown Neighborhood Association where I currently serve as Treasurer. I am also one of the founders of Broad Appetit. Through the Downtown Neighborhood Association I've had the opportunity to become more involved in the Richmond political and development scene. I have also been fortunate enough to sit on the board of the RVA Coalition for Smart Transit.
I graduated from the University of Richmond in 1990 with a BA in Political Science and never left town. I am currently employed as a Real Estate Broker with One South Realty Group.
As a father of 2 Fox elementary School students, I have seen what a truly amazing RPS school can do to the development of my two children. I am looking forward to continuing to send my kids to RPS schools.
Alyse Marshall-Aurenheimer
As a community organizer I have worked on a variety of projects from parking and neighborhood issues with the West Grace Street Association to education and even public gardening. I have been involved with the garden and learning task forces for RPS. I served on the PTA board at Richmond Community High School for 7 years and the RCHS Advisory Board for eight years. I am a past mentor for the Carver Promise. My husband and I moved to West Grace Street in 2002 specifically to move our children into urban schools so we have been active parents at all levels in RPS with our two younger kids having attended Fox, Albert Hill, and both graduated from Richmond Community High school.
I also serve on the board at RVA Coalition for Smart Transit, a community based organization advocating for equitable and thoughtful public transportation options. I am a long time supporter of the Richmond SPCA and Humane Society of the US. I am a native New Mexican and member of the Muscogee Creek Nation. I have been married to my wonderful husband since 1984 and we have three children. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/Public Administration from the University of Arkansas. I am a licensed Realtor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a fan of all things RVA!
Kathryn Oti
As a long-time Richmond resident, I feel deeply connected to the local community and strongly believe in supporting our public schools. Our school buildings should provide a safe, healthy and inspiring learning environment. As a parent of three Fox Elementary School children, I served on the PTA Board at Fox and twice Co-Chair of the Fox Art Auction.
I have a B.S. from VCUs School of Mass Communications in Advertising and a Graduate Certificate in Historic Preservation & Planning from VCU's L. Douglas Wilder School of Government & Public Affairs. I co-founded House Story, a monthly architecture tour and storytelling series.
I'm a Realtor licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and am married with four wonderful children.
Elsa Woodaman
I have been an educator for over 20 years and am a long-term member of the West Grace Street Association, as well as Secretary of the WGSA Board. I am also a member of the RVA Coalition for Smart Transit.
I am also the founder of the Building A Better Richmond Public Schools club at St. Christophers School, where our students volunteer labor to help fulfill our mission at BBRPS.
I have lived in Richmond since 1997, and am married with two children. I have a B.A from UVA and an M.S. from Georgetown University.
Sandra Wheeler
I am an experienced relationship and community relations professional with a demonstrated history of working in the K-12 and youth development sector.
I am skilled in relationship management, nonprofit management, volunteer management, fundraising, program development, and grant writing.
I have a strong community and social services professional with a BS focused in Psychology and a BA focused in Modern Languages, concentration in German from Longwood University. Most recent education is a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Virginia Commonwealth University.
